Tongue-tie is the condition where the lingual frenulum, the band of tissue that attaches the tongue to the floor of the mouth, restricts tongue movement.
Signs of Possible Tongue-Tie
Nursing mom: sore or cracked nipples, pain with feeding, radiating breast pain, Low milk supply and plugged ducts/mastitis.
Baby: difficulty latching or suckling, clenching nipple, compressive suck, noisy feeding-clicking, unlatching frequently, slow weight gain, excessive fussiness and reflux-like behavior.
